Description: In 1180, armed conflict broke out between the Minamoto (Genji) and Taira (Heike) clans. Katō Kagekado was sent by Minamoto no Yoritomo to assassinate his enemy, Taira no Kanetaka. In this image, Kagekado uses his helmet as a ruse to draw the attack of Kanetaka, who he then kills. The family grave of Katō Kagekado can be visited in the Izu province today.
