Description: In 1582, Akechi Mitsuhide forced Oda Nobunaga to commit seppaku. His forces were then promptly routed by Hideyoshi at the Battle of Yamazaki (Tennozan). Mitsuhide fled, but was killed by a peasant militia near the village of Ogurusu. In this print, Mitsushide is horseback, under the moon. A peasant watches, planning the ambush.
