Description : From an album of Kyogen performances, "Kyogen-ga Taikan", No.1. "Sue-hirogari". The lord sent Taro-kaja to buy "Suehiro" (folding fan). Since Taro-kaja did not know what "Suehiro" was, he was deceived by a con-man to buy an umbrella instead. The lord was bit angry because he paid extraordinary amount of money for a simple umbrella. Kyogen is performed during the intermission of Noh plays. Unlike the solemn, formal and symbolic noh theater, kyogen makes the audience laugh with their comical dialog and lively movements.
