Description : Nenjiro Inagaki (Mikumo) The Artist's name is NENJIRO INAGAKI, signed 'Mikumo'' a signature generally used by Nenjiro, perhaps because his prints were printed from the woodblocks at Mikumo Mokuhansha in Kyoto. Inagaki, born 1902, worked as designer for stencil dyed fabric and became a professor at the Kyoto Municipal Fine Arts College in 1958. In 1962 he was awarded the special honor of 'Living National Treasure Artist' for the techniques he invented and refined in textile printing. During this period he designed multicolored woodblock prints that display some of the style and color quality of his textile desings. The print offered is good example of Inagaki's design and use of color in images of the Japanese countryside. Details About the Print Framed size: 16 5/8 x 21 3/8 inches. Numbered: 3/100.
