Description : Monday, 3 July 2006 Mid-century modern presentation of this Yukio Katsuda silkscreen of a wood block. Signed, dated and numbered, '12/100' by the artist in pencil along the lower margin. Katsuta chronologically numbered each of his original silkscreens, this is No. 67. Owl staring out from bare winter tree branches. Katsuda's artistic technique captures both light and textures through successive serigraphic printings. Almost a form of complex stippling, it appears three-dimensional. Printed on thick laid paper. A fine, deeply printed impression, mounted in a black wood frame on a larger woven frame. Sticker on back reads, Kanda's Gallery, GOQ, Tokyo. Entire piece is 21" x 16", print is 15.5" x 10.5". Very good condition, no fading.
