Description : Tatsumi, Shimura- Late Summer- 3.jpg is: This is an original large oban size shin hanga Japanese woodblock print by Shimura Tatsumi (1907-1980) titled "Natsu Takete" or "Late Summer" from the series Gendai Bijin Fuzoku Gotai (Five Figures of Modern Beauties), dated Showa 28 (1953). The print is sealed in the image. Nakagawa carver's seal and Ono printer's seal in right margin. Title is embossed at bottom center margin. Nihon Hanga Kenkyusho publishers seal in lower margin. Fine condition, color and impression. No foxing, toning, folds or creases. The print has not been setdown, trimmed, and has never been mounted. See "The Female Image 20th Century Prints of Japanese Beauties", page 183 for this print. Large oban size measures 11.25" x 18.25" inches.
