Description : 1968 Abstract Japanese Woodblock Print HASUMI This vintage 1960's Japanese abstract woodblock print is in excellent condition. The artist is Yukio Hasumi and it is a sosaku-hanga modernist print. The red waves in the black foreground gradually change to brilliant fluorescent orange against a lighter background. A shadowy disturbance interrupts the bands of color. Sheet size is 25" wide by 19-3/4" high. . Color is bold and unfaded. No real image defects. There are some white specks in the image that are not losses, but rather tiny spots where the color did not lay down on the paper completely. The bottom left margin corner is creased. There is some water staining in the center of the bottom margin. The print is pencil signed "Yukio Hasumi" and dated 1968. It is numbered 15 of 20. It is titled "Work S2".
