Description : Thursday, 26 May 2005 A BEAUTIFULLY HAND PAINTED JAPANESE WATERCOLOR FROM THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY, PAINTED AND SIGNED IN THE LOWER RIGHT HAND CORNER BY H. SAITO. PAINTED IN FINE DETAIL IN THE WESTERN STYLE OF WATERCOLORS. THE SCENE IS OF A MAN WALKING ACROSS A SMALL BRIDGE ABOVE A SMALL RIVER. THERE ARE FARM HOUSES ALONG THE RIVERSIDE IN THE DISTANCE AND THE AUTUMN COLORS ARE EVERY WHERE. THE DETAILING OF THE HOUSES, TREES AND GRASSES ARE VERY BEAUTIFULLY DONE. THE ARTIST HAS CAPTURED THE TRANQUIL BEAUTY OF PRE-WAR JAPAN. THE PAINTING MEASURES 10 1/4" WIDE BY 14 7/8" TALL. THE PAINTING IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, ALTHOUGH THE OFF WHITE EDGES SHOW SLIGHT DISCOLORATION.
