Description : 2006年2月9日 Ikeda Shoen, one of the few female Japanese print designers, is sometimes mentioned (perhaps incorrectly) as a teacher of Paul Jacoulet. She died at an early age in 1917. This is her best known design, titled "November-Balmy Autumn Weather," and was first published several years after her death as part of the series "Collection of New Ukiyo-e Style Beauties" in 1924. It is illustrated in The Female Image, plate 136. The Female Image copy shows calligraphy in the right margin not carried on this copy, a common variation in examples from "Collection of New Ukiyo-e Style Beauties." There are also differences in the background coloring, another common variation. This copy is in excellent state, has strong colors, insignificant toning, good bleedthrough. A nice addition to a collection. Size: Oban, 9 3/8" by15 1/8" on uintrimmed sheet 10 5/8" by 16"
