Description : THIS OLD WATERCOLOR IS SIGNED BY TOMITA. IT LOOKS LIKE A JAPANESE SCENE ON A RAINY DAY. THERE IS A MAN CARRYING A RICKSHAW AND A COUPLE PEOPLE IN THE STREET HOLDING UMBRELLAS AND LANTERNS IN THEIR HANDS. WHEN I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THIS WATERCOLOR THERE WAS A LABEL ON THE BACK INDICATING WHEN IT WAS FRAMED AND I BELIEVE THE DATE WAS AROUND 1914 OR 1918. SINCE THEN THIS LABEL HAS FELL OFF AND LOST. SO NO DOUBT THE WATERCOLOR WAS PAINTED PRIOR TO THIS. THE WATERCOLOR ITSELF MEASURES 8.75" X 13.25". THERE ARE A FEW WATERSPOTS? THAT SLIGHTLY SHOW THROUGH. INCLUDING THE FRAME, THE MEASUREMENTS ARE 15"X 18.5". THE OLD GOLD FRAME IS QUITE ORNATE BUT SOME OF THE DETAIL HAS BROKEN OFF. IT WAS MATTED ON A BLACK BACKGROUND. THE BACKING NEEDS TO BE REDONE AND THE WATERCOLOR PROPERLY SET.
