In 1964, after 13 years of framing experience, Akira Kanda, along with his wife Reiko, opened his first gallery. Many of the American military personnel stationed in Tokyo at the time were discovering the beauty of the traditional Japanese print. They flocked to Kanda's Gallery not merely to buy but to visit and to learn more about the art and the artists. The atmosphere was congenial enough that the pilots on TDY (Temporary Duty) began to say "Let's go to Kanda's B.O.Q. (Bachelor Officers' Quarters) room!" Kanda's became their home away from home and Kanda's B.O.Q. began!" "Today people are still encouraged to drop by and take time to learn about the art. The galleries sell works by many artists featuring traditional and contemporary Japanese prints." Excellent Condition Overall Framed with a light olive green burlap like outer area Silver aluminum frame around the print itself One or two light marks on the metal part of the frame Non glare glass
