Description : Fresh from a local estate sale, this nice vintage woodblock print created by the infamous listed Japanese artist Kaoru Kawano(1916-1965) The whole area of the paper measures approximately 8 by 10 inches, where as the area of the actual block measures 4.33 inches by 5.75 inches. I have not examined this item outside its frame, but it appears to be in nice condition. There is one light freckle or fox tone in the field. There are some pinpoint ink specks, which appear original and were likely part of the print process. The paper shows light toning with some waviness. The frame has some nicks and chips with two corners showing separation. This frame is original to the piece.
