Description : Thursday, 16 March 2006 Takashi Ito Color Woodblock Japanese artist 1894-1982. Takashi Ito worked primarily as a painter. But he also created several dozens of landscape prints in Shin hanga style for Shozaburo Watanabe. His landscapes are idealized scenes of beauty and untouched nature. This is a vintage and original old color woodblock. Printed by Watanabe (red seal in lower left of image). “Yasaka Shrine after Snowfall ? Kyoto” Beautiful snow scene depicting a valley stream, trees and the mountains. Has Japanese writing in the image and in the right and left margins. Has “Made In Japan” stamped on the verso. Has some slight creases. Two pin holes in the upper and lower, left margin. Overall good condition. Great color with embossing in the clouds. Crisp lines. The image measures 14 1/8 x 9 3/8 inches. The page is 15 5/8 x 10 3/8 inches. Unframed.
