Description : Friday, 1 September 2006 Title Rice Cake Making kuchi-e Artist Kiyokata Kaburagi 1878-1973 Signature Kiyokata Seal Artist's seal Dated ca. 1900-1910s Medium/Technique Woodblock print Impression very good Colors excellent - very good Condition very good … paper toning, two horizontal kuchi-e folds, slight red transfer stains, slight crease on the right upper corner, slightly soiled, a vertical dark line along the lower right edge, not backed. Description A beauty is making a sheet of rice cake for the preparation of the New Year's celebration. "Kagami-mochi", a small round rice cake on top of a bigger one covered with assorted traditional ornaments, decorates each house as a good-luck symbol.
