Description : Ohara Shoson - "Running Water and Chysanthemums" Showa 6 (1931) Shoson (or Koson as he was also known) was publishing prints with Watanabe, along with contemporaries Hasui, Kasamatsu and Yoshida. Original atozuri wooblock print (later edition from original blocks). Oban size print on thick, modern washi. Image size: 23.7cm (W) x 36.2cm (H) Another very fine reprint; Superbly excecuted, the matt black which appears extensively in this image is one of the greatest tests of a printer's ability. Very good registration and impression with good bleedthrough of pigment to verso.
