Description : Monday, 7 May 2007 SHIRO KASAMATSU Man Leading a Horse Under the Full Moon -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: c.early 1930s; with red Shiro seal in the image; published by Watanabe. Size: tanzaku, approx. 5" x 10.25" Condition: VG, paper evenly age-toned, drying pin hole in the upper left corner, and some thinning in the margin, otherwise fine, never framed, uncirculated print Impression: Fine, excellent coverage, registration and good surface texture Color: Fine, deep saturated color and bleed through to verso -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very rare print showing a man leading a horse carrying a child by Shiro Kasamatsu. Through the trees we can see a lake and the distant lights of a house on the far shore. Overhead the full moon illuminates the scene. Published by Watanabe and dating from the early 1930s.
