Description : Superb color woodblock print of Mount Fuji by Koitsu Tsuchiya (1870-1949) Oban Paper size: 10 5/8" x 15 5/8" Image size: 9 3/8" x 14 3/8" Publisher's seal in right margin: Baba Nobuhiko [of Kyoto] Publisher's [?] watermark in paper at upper right corner Date in left margin: 1939 [I think] With the "Shin" red seal and signature. No stains, no foxing, no flaws. Tipped to paper mat. Purchased from the estate of a prominent Congressman who evidently left it sitting in a Japanese folder for 40 years or more. Very nice! Probably "Fuji in Autumn"? One of his scarcest images.
