Description : Monday, 28 March 2005 Kuchi-e: A Woman Visiting a Temple in the New Year Artist: Mizuno Toshikata Format: Kuchi-e: 12.25" x 8.75" Subject: A woman in a kimono wearing a pink fur shawl and a Pearl ring, which was high fashion for rich women at that time. She is buying a statue of a Cock as a charm of the year of the Cock. This print was a frontis piece in a well-known magazine Bungei Club (Literature Club). Date: 1906 Condition: Full size. The usual two horizontal foldmarks. Minor thinning, soils, stains, marks and flaws. Generally good state. Colour: Fine colors. Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage and lacquer used for the hair.
