Description : Wednesday, 8 October 2008 Comments- Charming scene of a beauty in an interior practicing ikebana, the fine art of Japanese flower arranging. She holds a flowering branch and a pair of scissors in her hands, a vase on a stand before her and a tray of flowers on the floor at her feet. A scroll of Hotei, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, hangs in the niche behind her. An attractive print. Artist- Chikanobu (1838 - 1912) Image size- 13 1/8" x 8 1/2" Condition- With excellent color and detail. Backed with thin paper. Slight curling from rolled storage, could be flattened. Creasing throughout. Light toning and soiling, slight offsetting. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
