Description : Woodblock triptych print, oban tate-e. Scene from the production of the kabuki play 'Kotoba no hana momiji no sakari', which was performed at the Ichimura-za theater in early 1849, showing an unidentified actor as Kanto Kurobei holding a fan with the boy Kanda Yokichi (left), Seki Sanjuro as Hantoki Kurobei (centre) wearing robes depicting scences of hell, and Nakamura Utaemon IV as Honcho-maru Tsunagoro (right), all standing before a bamboo fence around a temple.
