Scene from the production of Sumida-gawa at the Ichimura Theater in the sixth month of Kaei I (1848), showing Ichikawa Kodanji IV as the bloody ghost of Hukai-bo amidst flames, centre, with Ichimura Uzaemon XII as Dogu-ya Jinzo, right, and Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Gebuku Gunsuke, the servant of Yoshida, left.
