A gust of Spring wind carries a shower of cherry petals over the roof of a pleasure boat with a half hidden Geisha with an elaborate hairpin and an elegantly patterned Obi and overgarnment, which is setting out from the Mukojima side of the Sumida and heading across to the mouth of the San'ya Canal. The example being offered is first state of the first edition with purple bokashi at top. For an example of the second state see 'One Hundred Famous Views of Edo', Brooklyn Museum # 39.
