Sell Your Japanese Woodblock Print
Selling your Japanese woodblock print?
Japanese woodblocks have been around for generations. From pleasing the masses in Tokyo during the early 19th century, to making the voyage to Europe and inspiring the Impressionists at the turn of the 20th century; to modern days when the scarcity of such work is becoming harder to come by. We realize the beauty and value of these woodblock prints and we want to help you unlock its value. Instead of selling it at your garage sale, eBay, or letting it sit around collecting dust, send our experts your collection and we will give you an appraisal.
What types of prints are we looking to buy?
We are typically seeking out Old Master artists such as the following: Katsushika Hokusai, Ando Hiroshige, Utamaro, Kuniyoshi, Shunso, Harunobu, Yoshitoshi, and others. Often times, you might not know the artst you have, but you know you have a woodblock print. Take a couple photos of your print, one from the front and one from the back, and send us the woodblock print in question. We will let you know if we are able to appraise it, and we are happy to research the artist and provide that info to you complimentary.
What is the process of selling?
Fill out our contact form with your information, including your contact info and relevant details about the print you are looking to sell. Include as many photos as you can including detail photos of the front, and the back if the print is not in the frame. If you are able to remove the print from the frame and photograph from the back, that would be very helpful in order for us to provide a complete evaluation.
Once we have your info, expect a reply back within 5-7 business days. We will make our best effort to identify the artist and work, and provide an offer if applicable. Since we receive many inquiries every day and of various calibers, we are unable to make offers on every piece.
If we do make an offer, we will do so in writing to you. If you accept, we will provide a brief electronic contract of purchase, we will provide to you a shipping label and will even provide shipping materials, as needed, and once we receive the print we will release your funds electronically via Paypal, Venmo, check, or bank transfer.
Thank you for trusting us with buying and selling woodblock prints! We love them and are thrilled that you do, too!
