This design was privately commissioned by Takezo SHIOTA in San Francisco. Unlike Hiroshi Yoshida, his equally beluminous fellow Shin Hanga artist, he seldom travelled outside Japan. This one is probably the only design showing a scenery of USA. Note No Watanabe copyright seal because it was privately commissioned. On the bottom margin, it says, “Hanken Shoyu-sha, Shioda Takezo” (Copyright belongs to Shioda Takezo). Format Oban tate-e Width Item 10.2 inches = 26.0 cm Height Item 15.2 inches = 38.5 cm
