Sanjo Bridge in Kyoto
Artist: Yoshida Hiroshi
Name: Sanjo Bridge in Kyoto
Date: Not set
Description: DESCRIPTION :This eBay auction is for a vintage framed Japanese woodblock print of two Geisha girls by Hiroshi Yoshida (1876 – 1950). The pencil signature of the artist is located along the lower margin along with the title which appears to read Sanjo Bridge in Kyato (see photos). This is a pencil signature and NOT an impressed signature. The chop is located in the lower right corner. CONDITION : This vintage Japanese wood block is in fair to good overall condition and free from tears, scratches, folds, bends, or repairs. The paper has not been glued down. The margins appear to have been trimmed. The paper shows signs of typical minor mellowing and there are signs of acid burn along the edges from previous framing. There is not heavy bleed through of the ink on the back of the paper. There is a 6 inch piece of old tape on the back of the paper which has caused a minor puckering of the paper on the front. We do not know why the tape is there. There are no tears. This may be able to be corrected by a paper restorer.
