Description: This is an original oban size, shin hanga Japanese woodblock print by Kawase Hasui (9883-1957) titled “Rain at Katsuga Shrine, dated Showa 18( 1933), and sealed in the image by the artist. The print was published by Watanabe Shozaburo and bears the Watanabe 6mm seal which makes this print a lifetime edition (published during Hasui’s lifetime). Fine impression, very good color and registration. No foxing, toning, folds or creases. The print is not setdown or trimmed. There is some very faint matburn in the margins which is visible in the photo, but does not affect the image. Paper size is 10.5″ x 15.5”.
