Description: This lovely woodblock print, “Nikko Yumoto Onsen”, Showa 12 is by Kawase Hasui (1883- 1957). It is in excellent condition showing a lakeside lodge with warm lantern light glowing through rice-paper windows reflecting on a lake. Rising behind the buildings are mist-shrouded hillsides silhouetted against the setting sun. Hasui’s signature stamp is on the right side of the print and the Watanabe publisher’s stamp (6mm) is in the lower right corner. The back shows good bleed-through. It measures 9 1/2 inches by 14 1/4 inches (24.1 x 36.2 cm) not including the margins.
