Description: Japanese woodblock print by Kawase hasui (1883-1957), “Clearing after a snowfall on Mt. Fuji (Tagonoura beach)” This print is one of Hasui’s most beautiful images of Mount Fuji, the sacred mountain and enduring symbol of Japan. Hasui signature and Kawase seal at lower left. Title and date 1932 at right margin. At the left margin is the Doi Sadaichi cartouche along with the printer’s and carver’s cartouche. This appears to be a genuine print from the period. Exceptional carving of the blocks, sharp impression, fresh strong colors with beautiful shadings. Unframed, full margins, exceptional condition. Oban tate-e, paper size 15 1/2 x 10 3/8inches Image size 14 1/4 x 9 7/16 inches.
