Description: A very beauitful Japanese woodblock night scene print by Hasui Kawase (1883-1957) “Konjiki Pagoda” Publisher Watanabe “C” seal (so-called “Sausage Seal”) 1929-42, printed in 1935. Hasui Kawase produced more than 400 woodblock designs until his death in 1957. Most of them were published by Watanabe. Kawase was the master of landscape prints. Famous are his night scene prints and the designs showing snow fall. Like no other artist he was capable of creating moods with his designs. MEASUREMENTS: Paper size Oban 15 1/4″ inches by 10 1/2″ inches …CONDITION: Very Good bright impression..minor paper loss to borders, the print was attached to mat with maskin tape some which is still attched to the margin .
