Illustrated with 11 wood block prints by kawase hasui. Also includes black and white photographs of shrines and illustrations of shrine styles. Wood blocks are titled, yasukuni shrine tokyo and its cherry blossoms, meiji shrine tokyo, kamedo shrine tokyo and its wisteria blossoms, hie shrine tokyo after a shower, hachiman shrine kamakura, the wedded rocks of futami-ga-ura near the grand shrine of ise, heian shrine kyoto, yasaka shrine kyoto, deer strolling along kasuga shrine nara, minatogawa shrine kobe, and ryobu torii of itsukushima shrine in inland sea, one print has small tear at top left corner.
