Description: “Kumamoto-jo Udo Yagura” (Tdo Turret, Kumamoto Castle). Kumamoto castle was built by war lord KATO Kiyomasa (1562-1611) and was under the hands of the Hosokawa during the Edo era. It became the focus point of armed contest between the government force and SAIGO Takamori’s group during the Satsuma rebellion in 1877.
