Description : Benten Pond, Shiba, 1929 Kawase Hasui (1883 ? 1957) Benten Pond, Shiba The pond filled with flowering water lilies and two women stand on the bridge- a spectacular print! The rich greens are beautiful in contrast with the flowers and colorful kimonos. This image is considered a Hasui masterpiece. The Boston Museum of Art has this print in their 20th century collection- wonderful! Signed- Kawase Hasui with red artist’s seal “sui” Sealed- Publisher Kawaguchi, later edition original, from original blocks Image size- 14 1/4” x 9 1/2” (oban yoko-e) Condition- Excellent, no toning, tears, not mounted, full margins
