Description: This is a very rare chuban-size set of The New 8 Best Scenery Of Japan by Kawase Hasui. Originally published in oban and postcard sizes in the 1930s by Bijutsusha, this set dates to 1974. Interestingly, the set as published contained a total of 10 prints, the two extra being rare chuban-sized versions of bijin-ga scenes originally published in oban-size by the artist Yamakawa Shuho in the 1930s. This set has one bijin-ga scene missing. This set comes complete with its original canvas tatou album case, series brochure, and explanations of each scene (in Japanese, Lake Towada explanation is missing).
