Description: This is an original oban size, shin hanga Japanese woodblock print by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) titled “Moonlight at Seichoen Garden”, dated Showa 13 (1938), and signed/sealed in the image by the artist. The print was published by Watanabe Shozaburo, bears the Watanabe 6mm seal (1945-1957) which makes this print a lifetime edition (published during Hasui’s lifetime). The print is in overall fine condition. Fine impression, excellent color and registration. No foxing, toning, folds or creases. The print is not setdown or trimmed. There are two barely visible mounting tape remnants attached to the verso of the print. Paper size is 10.5″ x 15.5″.
